Volumes #

Setting Needs a mixer?
Master Volume No. Without a mixer it controls AudioListener.volume.
Music, Sound Effects, Voice, Interface Yes: each controls an exposed parameter of your Audio Mixer.

Volume settings without a mixer are hidden, and the Check tab offers to fix it.

The starter mixer #

Home tab, step 2 (or Setup tab > Create starter mixer) copies a mixer with the groups Master, Music, SFX, Voice and UI and the exposed parameters MasterVolume, MusicVolume, SfxVolume, VoiceVolume and UiVolume, then assigns it. Route your AudioSources to the matching groups.

To use your own mixer, expose each group's volume (right-click the Volume field > Expose) and type the parameter name into the volume setting. Sliders map linearly to decibels the way players expect (0% is silent).

Each theme has move, submit, back, open, slider, toggle and error sounds (Kenney Interface Sounds, CC0). They play through the front end's UI Sound Player; set its output to your UI mixer group so the Interface volume controls them. Menu sounds keep playing while the game is paused.

Pause #

In Freeze pause mode the kit pauses AudioListener (game audio stops) and restores it exactly on resume. See Pause and multiplayer hooks.
