Fix Tab
Tools for what's already placed. Each works on the selection (or the scene) and is one Undo step.
Ground #
Drops the selected objects straight down onto the first surface with a collider below them, so their bottom rests on it.
- Align to the slope off: their rotation is kept. On: each is turned to match the surface under it.
- A piece sunk into the ground comes up to its top (the surface is found from the top of the object down).
- Objects with nothing under them are left alone.
Shortcut: Alt+Shift+D (works without the window open).
Floating #
Finds objects floating above, or sunk into, the surface under them.
- Choose Whole scene (every placed piece in the open scenes) or Selection.
- Set the tolerance: gaps smaller than it are fine (5 cm by default).
- Scan. Each object found is listed with its gap. - Click its name to select and frame it. - Fix drops that one onto its surface; Fix all drops every one (one Undo step).
Shortcut: Alt+Shift+F opens this mode and scans.
Doubles #
Finds copies of the same piece stacked in the same spot: the same prefab, place, turn and size (a double click, a paste twice). They look like one piece, but draw twice and flicker.
- Pick Whole scene or Selection and click Scan: it says how many extra copies there are, and where.
- Select extras selects them, to look first; click a line to select one spot's copies and frame them.
- Remove extras keeps one copy in each spot (the first in the Hierarchy) and removes the rest, in one Undo step.
Copies turned differently, or of a different size, aren't doubles and are never removed.
Randomize #
Jitters the selected objects, each at random within the ranges:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Turn (±°) | Turn about the up axis. |
| Tilt (±°) | Lean (0: stay upright). |
| Scale | Multiply each object's scale by a factor between the two values (1 and 1: no change). |
| Colour | Tint each part with a random colour of the active palette (Settings > Palettes) for its role: the walls a wall colour, the trim a trim colour. Any colour, or untick it and tick the colours to use (a part with none of its role ticked keeps its own). |
| Seed | The same seed gives the same result; the dice picks a new one. |
Colours are shared material variants of the kit's own materials: one per material and colour, saved in your data
folder (Palette Variants/<palette>/), never unique materials per object. The colour goes on _BaseColor (URP, HDRP)
or _Color (Built-in). Which part is which is told by its material's name (Brick, Plaster: walls; Frame, Trim: trim; Awning,
Roof, Door: accents; Grass, Asphalt: ground), or, when the name says nothing, by how much of the piece it covers (the most:
the walls; small details: accents; the rest: trim). Glass and lights, and a piece's window slot, are left alone. Clear colours puts the selection's own materials back.
One Undo step. Shortcut: Alt+Shift+R opens this mode.
Similar #
Selects every object like the selected one.
| Match | Selects |
|---|---|
| Same piece | Every object placed from the same prefab. |
| Same kit | Every piece of the same kit. |
| Same category | Every piece of the same category. |
| Same tag | Every object with the same tag. |
Whole scene looks in every open scene; In view only at what the Scene view camera can see. Shortcut: Alt+Shift+S.
Replace #
Swaps placed objects for another piece.
- Pick the new piece in the palette (it shows under Replace with).
- Select what to replace: click it in the Scene view (Shift or Ctrl adds more).
- Replace the selection: each one is swapped for the new piece, where it was, its place and turn, its own scale (a copy scaled by hand stays that much bigger or smaller) and its folder (a copy filed in its category's folder goes in the new piece's folder instead). The new piece's bottom middle goes where the old one's was, so pieces with different pivots neither float nor sink.
Replace all swaps every copy of the selected piece in the open scenes. When the two pieces' footprints differ by a quarter or more, you're warned (it may overlap its neighbours, or leave gaps). One Undo step either way; the new pieces are selected afterwards. The buttons are in the Scene view popup too.
